The criminal justice system in the United States faces a persistent challenge — the cycle of incarceration and relapse among individuals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Far too often, those with justice-involved histories are released back into their communities without adequate treatment, setting the stage for a return to addiction and, subsequently, to prison. At Bridge Back to Life Center, our mission is clear: to break this cycle and provide a new start for individuals with justice-involved histories. Since 1988, we have been dedicated to improving the health, safety, and quality of life for returning citizens and their families throughout the New York Metro area.
The Bridge Back to Life Center has been at the forefront of providing addiction disorder treatment and counseling services to those within the Criminal Justice System. Our Justice Involved program is meticulously designed to address the unique challenges faced by returning citizens, offering a comprehensive range of tools and resources for treatment, recovery, and prevention.
A notable strength of our program lies in the robust and collaborative relationships we have cultivated with various agencies working in support of the New York City metro area Criminal Justice System. These partnerships include Drug Treatment Courts, Veterans Courts, the Center for Court Innovations, Red Hook Community Justice Center, Midtown Community Court, and multiple TASC (Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) offices across the city. Additionally, we work closely with the New York State Division of Parole and the Office of Probation and Correctional Alternatives (OPCA).
Recovery from addiction disorders goes beyond mere rehabilitation; it is about providing justice-involved individuals with the necessary tools to actively participate in society and receive another chance at life.
